Sample Sunday: The Matrimony

MICHAELA

“How was Pilates?”

“It was really good. I can’t wait to get back in the studio at home.”

 “Why’d you stop?”

“Kamryn was my Pilates partner and since she’s pregnant,” I trailed off.

He laughed while shaking his head. “I’m sure you’re pretty sore, huh?”

I squirmed in his lap when he squeezed my thigh. “Very.”

“I got something for the soreness.” He nodded toward the door leading to our bathroom.

I stood from his lap to go see what he’d done. My hand flew to my mouth when I walked into the bathroom. The lights were on the lowest setting, and the shades were down halfway. In the center of the bathroom was a double slipper tub. Surrounding the tub were candles, roses, and a bottle of champagne on ice. The rose petals formed a path from the door to the bathtub. I leaned over, noting the petals at the bottom.

“You like it?” Sergio was on my heels, waiting for my reaction.

“I love it.”

He reached around me to turn on the water. I shuddered a sigh when he dropped a quick peck on the curve of my neck. Goosebumps covered my skin from the tender kiss. He sat along the side of the tub to adjust the water’s temperature before filling it. Once the tub was halfway, he added bath salts and bubble bath to the water. The smell of lavender wafted from the tub as a mass of foam formed.

While the water ran, I peeled off my leggings, followed by my sports bra and tank top. I pulled my hair into a high bun before sitting on the edge across from Sergio. He eyed me hungrily from head to toe. The look in his eyes hit me right in-between the legs. I reached for the hem of his sweatshirt and pulled it over his head.

“Join me,” I purred in his ear, earning a throaty chuckle from him. He held my hand, assisting me as I got into the tub. Once I was settled, I nodded toward the opposite side of the tub. “There’s more than enough room for you.”

“This is supposed to be for you.”

“But I want you in here with me.” I fluttered my lashes and tilted my head to the side. “We’ve been here for four days and haven’t used the tub yet.”

Sergio stared at me with furrowed eyebrows. I could tell he was really trying to convince himself not to get in the tub. A smirk covered my lips as I sunk into the water and kicked water his way.

“Are you really going to deny me?”

“You know I’d never do that.”

“So, why are you still standing there?”
