Their gazes locked for a second. Desire pooled in Darren’s eyes. At that moment, Quinn realized he wanted her just as badly as she wanted him. Unlike her past encounters, he was taking his time with her, allowing the desire to build. She hated how much the idea of him prolonging the inevitable turned her on. The tightness in her core intensified, and her heart raced from the possibilities.
He kissed her neck in the way he’d done her mouth. She tilted her head to the side, giving him free reign on her neck and collarbone. Slowly, they made their way toward the couch. Darren backed Quinn to the couch. Laughter spilled from their lips as they plopped down with their bodies still pressed together.
The softness in his eyes caused butterflies to fill her belly. She bit her lip and felt herself exposed under his gaze. He caught her by the cheek just as she tried to look away.
“What is it?” he asked.
“The way you look at me…”
“I’m wondering why it took us so long to get here.”
Her eyebrows met. “Me too.”
Not wanting to wait a second longer, Quinn kissed him again. Her mouth ravished his, savoring the softness of his lips. She drew him closer by wrapping her arms around his neck. His hands trailed her thighs and pushed her dress over her hips. The feeling of his fingers at the seat of her panties prompted her to lift her hips. Darren groaned in delight at the moisture between Quinn’s legs. She moaned while rocking against his fingers, a mix of pleasure and anticipation building in her core.
Their rapacious mouths communicated the words they weren’t ready to share. Her fears about falling in love again, but also the hope of finally meeting her person.
